Spring Training 2026 - Day 47

 No baseball today.

There is a small drainage ditch behind our RV and when I opened the shade on the RV behind the RV bedroom an egret was there looking for breakfast.  He found a small fish and flew off.

My sister Eileen and two of her daughters arrived yesterday from Philadelphia. A friend also flew in from Alaska and a couple of relatives who live locally joined us. We all went to breakfast at Lenny's today.

Everyone has Philadelphia connections and we had another great Lenny's breakfast. My sister even ordered Scrapple with her eggs. I have to admit, even from back there I have never eaten Scapple. This decision was reinforced after I was old enough to see what Scrapple is made from.  Don't ask, look it up if interested. Think one level lower than Spam. I shouldn't knock it.  A lot of people back East like it and it apparently tastes pretty good and if you don't know or care what it is made from.

I had the Redneck Benedict again (sausage patty on biscuit with poached eggs, home fries with onions, covered in gravy).  It is a hearty breakfast that is not something you would do every day. As noted, we are on vacation and we are occasionally moving beyond a breakfast bagel or toast and jam or something more appropriate as regular breakfast fare.

Eileen and her crew went over to Honeymoon Island State Park for a little beach time.  We went back to the RV and didn't do much of any significance for the rest of the afternoon.

We gathered again for dinner ar the Bar Fly Restaurant and Grill in Safety Harbour, the same restaurant where Kevin saved a guy's life a week or so ago with an effective Heimlich Maneuver.  We had an excellent dinner outside, great conversations and getting caught up with family information and activities.

My lobster tacos were delicious

Baseball tomorrow.  Toronto Blue Jays. Eileen and crew will be at the game.
