The Atlanta Braves played the Phillies today, their one trip to the Phillies ballpark each year. It was a quick game with good pitching and not much offense. The Phillies lost in the 9th inning when a rookie pitcher gave up a run and the Phillies lost 1-0.
A pregame highlight was he introduction of Harry Brook, a famous British Cricket star. He was dressed in a baseball uniform and talked with former Phillies star, Chase Utley who he knows. Chase presently lives in London and is MLB's overseas representative.
We stopped at the grocery store on the way back to the RV to pick up a corned beef brisket for our St. Patrick's Day dinner tomorrow (A Day early). Kevin will cook it in the crockpot tomorrow.
The plan for dinner tonight was to cook out steaks, corn on the cob, mushrooms, twice baked potatoes, baked beans and dinner bread. As I started to cook the mushrooms, A thunderstorm popped up and it started raining pretty hard. The grill is under the RV awning that mostly protected the grill. We pressed on and had another great meal. And a first for me, grilling a meal outside in a thunderstorm.
No baseball tomorrow. Rain is expected later in the day and cold weather coming in and the forecast is for much cooler weather this week. We have five more games to go and our days with shorts and t-shirts may be limited.
