Spring Training Baseball 2026 - Day 19

Today was the first official day of Spring Training.  Pitchers and catchers reported and began their workouts and practice.

There are 4 practice fields around a central building of various training offices and facilities. There is a walkway around the upper part of the building for coaches, executives as such to observe activities on each field.  There is also an area for pictures to practice from a pitcher's mound and a connection to the clubhouse building.

After a stop at Starbucks, we traveled over to the complex.  The practices are open to the public and there is no charge for parking.  The fields are enclosed by fences and there are bleachers by each field.

There was a pretty good crowd of fans there today, watching, and talking "Philly" and baseball.  You are not exactly up close and personal to the players, and there no autograph opportunities for those who might want one, but we had the opportunity to get our first dose of spring training baseball and a view of many of the Phillies main pitchers beginning to get ready for the season.

We also walked down to the "Diamond Outfitters`" Phillies merchandise store by the main entrance to the ballpark to look around and maybe buy a few "needed" Phillies things.  It was a good time to visit. It wasn't crowded.  During the games, it is very crowded and difficult to look around.

After leaving the complex, we stopped at Walmart for a few groceries and things then lunch at a Steak and Shake.

Now back in the RV watching Olympic men's hockey.  Mexican food in the RV for dinner.

Weather remains great, mid 70's with a partly cloudy sky.
