Spring Training 2026 - Day 70

On the road today at 8:45 from the Ft Stockton RV Park.  It was a long trip, almost 300 miles to our next stop, The Hacienda RV Resort in Las Cruces, NM, about 30 miles NW of El Paso, TX.  Judy and I always stayed here on our trips east and west.

It was an easy trip, very little wind and lots of open road. We arrived about 1:00 pm MST, gaining an hour near Van Horn, TX.

We had a burger at a fast-food place nearby after setting up and watched the Phillies play the Colorado Rockies on TV. The Phillies won.

Later, we made a short trip to Walmart then went to our favorite Mexican Restaurant, La Posta de Mesilla, just down the road in the town of Mesilla.

The town has a long history with the first permanent settlement in 1840.  It developed into a major transportation hub, and was the crossroads of two major stagecoach, mail, and trade routes.  Two Civil War battles were also fought near by.
