Baseball today was an exhibition game against the Canada National Team. The World Baseball Classic starts this week, and national teams are playing exhibition games against major league teams in preparation for the tournament that starts this weekend.
There will be four venues for the tournament: Phoenix, AZ, Houston, TX, Puerto Rico, and Japan. Fifteen Phillies players from their major and minor league teams are playing for nine different countries. It will be a two-week round robin tournament with the final game to be played in Miami.
The game today still had a lot of the Phillies major league players in the line-up and were ahead of the Canada Team until the minor league players came in and the Phillies lost 5-3.
It was almost perfect baseball weather although the temperature made it into the mid-80s. It was sunny, not much wind, and pretty good attendance. With Canada playing today, the park raises the Canadian Flag and plays the Canadian National Anthem before our National Anthem. This is also done when the Toronto Blue Jays plays the Phillies.
We were going to travel over to Clearwater Beach for dinner but decided not to and had takeout Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner.
More baseball tomorrow. The Boston Red Sox's will be here, travelling from the Ft. Meyer area.
